Consortial programs from ideas to action: Program and grant design workshop
Open to all AMICAL members
April 2 | 14:00 Paris time (see local time) | 90 minutes
This workshop is focused on shaping consortial program or project ideas for AMICAL. Participants should come with ideas for new initiatives, or developments of existing initiatives. The session will emphasize building momentum, laying the ground for continued work beyond the workshop.
Working in small groups participants will clarify, test, and refine their ideas, considering what it would actually take to move them forward. They will also have the opportunity to give feedback on others’ ideas and find collaborators. By the end of the session, participants will have a clearer, stronger, and more actionable version of their ideas, informed by the perspectives of colleagues.
The workshop will be facilitated by Barbara McFadden, originally invited as keynote speaker and workshop facilitator for AMICAL 2026. Barbara led large-scale inter-institutional collaborations for the Big Ten Universities and has consulted widely on collaboration in higher education.
To participate, send an email to contact@amicalnet.org with answers to these two questions by end of day Wednesday April 1:
- The Challenge/Opportunity: What shared challenge or opportunity across AMICAL institutions does this idea address?
- The Big Idea: In one or two sentences, what could we do together to address that challenge/opportunity?
Even rough or preliminary ideas are welcome.
We will respond to your message with the Zoom link for the session.
The questions above are the required sections of the Idea Canvas worksheet. We encourage you to fill out as much of the rest of it before the session as you can: Google Docs | Microsoft Word
