Exploring Erasmus+ grants
We have already sent invitations to all AMICAL library and CLT directors. You may also invite other colleagues at your institution who have a leadership or decision-making role in libraries or CLTs. Any such colleagues who have experience or interest in either Erasmus+ grant program are encouraged to join.
We encourage you to come ready to share briefly what your institution has done or is interested in doing in either of these areas (verbally, without formal presentations).
We have noted eligibility by countries below, but there’s a lot of documentation, and it’s possible we’ve missed something. So if you’re interested, please join either session.
Capacity-building
April 1, 11:00–12:00 (local time)
Grant eligibility by country: Institutions in the EU, Armenia, Egypt, Morocco, Lebanon, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, Ghana, Nigeria.
EU Erasmus+ “Capacity building for higher education” (CBHE) grants support higher ed in a range of ways, but for AMICAL the program represents a particularly valuable opportunity for funding inter-institutional collaborative projects that introduce new approaches and initiatives in higher education, based on peer learning and transfer of experience and good practice affecting not only the institutions but also society at large.
This working session invites directors of libraries and centers for learning and teaching who have experience with Erasmus+ capacity building grants to share their experiences and advice to those considering applying for new Erasmus+ grants. Other leaders of libraries and centers for learning and teaching who are interested in such programs are encouraged to join us.
In particular, we will discuss:
- An overview of the Erasmus+ CBHE program
- Expertise, experience or other forms of contribution that members might bring to a CBHE project
- Opportunities for creating an “Erasmus+ consortium” that would be eligible for a capacity building grant
- Possible elements we might want to incorporate into a proposal
- Next steps for developing the proposal
The session will be facilitated by Hoda Mostafa.
Mobility exchange
April 1, 12:00–13:00 (local time)
Grant eligibility by country: Those eligible for the CBHE grant, plus institutions in Kuwait, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
Erasmus+ Mobility Agreement programs provide support for staff and faculty exchanges for training and teaching across participating institutions. This working session invites directors of libraries and centers for learning and teaching who have experience with Erasmus+ Mobility staff exchange programs to share about existing agreements in which they participate, their experiences with such programs, and advice for others interested in starting or participating in such programs. Other leaders of libraries and centers for learning and teaching who are interested in such programs are encouraged to join us.
In particular, we will discuss:
- Opportunities for new Erasmus+ Mobility agreements
- Next steps toward setting these up
The session will be facilitated by Nikolina Ivanova-Bell.
