Independent scholar

Catherine Cronin is an independent scholar whose work focuses on critical and social justice approaches in digital and open education. As a current GO-GN Fellow, Catherine is currently conducting research in the area of community-focused Open Knowledge. She is co-editor of Higher Education for Good: Teaching and Learning Futures, due for publication in 2023. Catherine has a PhD in open education and has worked for many years in the higher education sector, most recently as Digital and Open Education lead in Ireland’s National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching & Learning in Higher Education where she led sector-wide projects including a national survey of digital experience, development of open education capabilities, and supporting institutional policies on digital/open education. Catherine is a regular contributor to publications, collaborative projects and conversations in the areas of higher, digital and open education, within Ireland and globally (see http://catherinecronin.net).
