American University of Iraq, Sulaimani
AUIS opened its doors in October 2007. AUIS offers four undergraduate majors, one Master of Business Administration program, and English and professional courses through its Professional Development Institute. AUIS was deliberately conceived as a liberal arts university. To that effect, all undergraduate students have to complete a Core Program covering various fields in the humanities and the sciences before focusing on their major of choice. At all levels of instruction, learning is enhanced by way of small and interactive classes, which enable candid, open discussions between students and faculty. As all classes are taught in English, students quickly become fluent in the language, opening doors to countless professional and academic opportunities in Iraq and abroad.
