The "RESPOND" pilot project aims to introduce AMICAL members to the benefits of membership in the OCLC cooperative, including access to its highly developed resource sharing, group catalog, and collection analysis services. Many of these services depend upon AMICAL libraries' holdings being represented in WorldCat, and this contribution from AMICAL libraries will allow us to easily share and discover the materials our libraries own. RESPOND will not only allow our libraries to tap into OCLC's worldwide automated ILL network, it will help us to better understand our own collections -- and better understand how our consortium should plan for resource sharing in the future. For detailed information about the background of the project and the services and activities involved, see the RESPOND proposal.
