Academic and practitioner in audiovisual translation, currently teaching translation and interpreting at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at Effat University, KSA. Visiting professor in screen translation at London City University, UK; formerly visiting professor at Bologna University, Italy.

Member of the Institute of Linguists in London; Member of SUBTLE, an association that endeavours to achieve excellence in subtitling.

Publications: Arabic/English syntax in translation: Equivalence at word and sentence levels (2013), Translating business English into Arabic: Business and Islamic finance texts (2016/2nd ed.2019), Linguistic issues and quality assessment of English-Arabic audiovisual translation (2018),Specialized Translation (2019), Common Reader (2020) [translation of Virginia Woolf’s book]. Two academic articles in Turjuman (1997 and 2000) and four collaboratively in academic peer-reviewed journals (2016) and one bookchapter ‘Subtitling Triangle’ in Translating Regionalized Voices in Audiovisuals (2009).
