Lyrasis

Lyrasis offers classes covering a wide variety of topics related to library and information services, and some of their online classes are self-paced or offered early enough in the day for AMICAL members to participate. AMICAL members may participate in any Lyrasis workshops (on-location or online) at the same price as Lyrasis members -- typically a 20% to 30% discount. Interested AMICAL members can sign up to receive the Lyrasis quarterly training schedule by email when they create an account on the Lyrasis website.  Lyrasis can also schedule a workshop, on an existing or customized topic, in conjunction with an AMICAL meeting or at other requested venues.

TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES:

• To sign up for a class, you will need to create an account on the Lyrasis website. During account creation:

• indicate your own institution under "Institution Name" (not AMICAL)
• For "Lyrasis member?" enter "Yes"

• To find classes offered: search for classes here by selecting "Distance Education" (online) as Delivery Method, or consult their full catalog here. 

• Select a specific class and date to register for
• If you have an AMICAL token available to use as payment for the class (confirm with AMICAL before using, to be given the appropriate code to use):
  
  • enter your "promo code" during the registration process
  • select "bill institution" as your method of payment (since using the token, your institution will not need to pay anything)
• If not using a token, payment must be made with a credit card
