An overview of recent and planned projects AMICAL and its members are engaged in to support the use of videoconferencing for inter-institutional collaborative teaching. We will discuss briefly: the updated AMICAL survey of videoconferencing infrastructure, collaborative support provided by AU Cairo for AU Paris' implementation of dedicated videoconferencing facilities, and a workshop on academic videoconferencing for AMICAL faculty planned for Fall 2012 at AU Cairo.

AMICALconnect is a social networking site, based on the Ning.com platform, where AMICAL members can interact to share ideas, discuss topics of common interest, and begin working together on consortial projects. We will give a tour of the site and talk about the ways in which members can use it as well as add new content and group spaces to it.
