ACRL Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education

In this presentation I am hoping to discuss ways of applying the “ACRL Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education” in the different information literacy classes offered by the library; I shall describe the challenges in covering all standards and in assessing the students’ learning outcome; I will try to describe opportunities and explore alternatives; I will discuss our experience involving faculty members, the Writing Center and the university Center of Teaching and Learning; I will end with the question of constantly dealing with emerging learning, research and writing technologies.
